Dow Corning participates in Glasstech regularly because we know that this is a premier platform where all the infrastructure product suppliers come under one roof to showcase their current and latest technologies and solutions. Dow Corning took this opportunity to introduce its new service for the Indian Infrastructure market, so as to upgrade the skillset required for glazing applications.
Diane Kelly, President – India Region, Dow Corning, India
This is the fourth time when we are participating in Zak Exhibition. During this period we have contacted the interested people. India is a very good market for us. Here, we can give a good product with high quality to the customers. We hope, the customer are not looking at the price only but quality also. We may expect to have meetings with new agents so that they may sell more of our machines. We are quite satisfied with the administration of the organizers of this exhibition.
Lorenzo Filippini, Area Sales Manager, Mecotec Macchine Di Technologia, Rogolo (SO), Italy
We are in the business of manufactures of glass coating machines which are used to coat glass for solar photovoltaic, architectural & structural applications in the market. We are here for architectural glass division. During this exhibition we have had some potential customers and are in contact with them for their requirements. The market for the coated glass is emerging in India. We are, overall, satisfied with the organizers of this exhibition and looking good future here.
Christoph Braatz, Manager Sales & Marketing, Glass & Solar Division, Leybold Optics Gmbh, Alzenau, Germany.
This is the first time that we are participating in the ZAK exhibition. We display our Laser & Engraver double functions engraving machine and Glass Vertical Cutting Machine. Both of the machines are very good in quality at a very competitive price. People are coming to our booth and showing their interest in our machines. We have already booked same machines. This is really a good platform to explore our business in Indian glass market. Next time we will participate in the ZAK exhibition.
Wu/Zihong, CEO/Technical Engineer, Huabo Weiye (Beijing), CNC Laser Equipments Co. Ltd, China.
We are for the time in India and participating in Zak exhibition. We have to see the market a little more to talk about it. But the important thing is what they are asking for. We have a small booth here. So, there is no problem. Next time we shall take a bigger booth to put a machine. Then we can tell you something more about the exhibition. India is a big market. We are exporting 80% of our manufacturing to different countries around the world. So, India would be one of the big markets for us.
Ali Tandogan, General Manager, Optimac Glass Machinery, Istanbul, Turkey
Lisec Technology is introducing the Lisec Satellite, a kind of Compact IG Line for 2 or 2.5 Meter glass, giving you quality production but less output as compared to the other standard machines. It is good to start a new industry with high quality production. Normal models are larger and faster in output. These have the same features but a slower production capacity. There is no compromise on the quality of the finished product. The response for the new model is good. People are interested in it and want to know what is in the market for them. Even though there is a slight slowdown in Europe, there is no impact on our business as we are a global company. In Middle East, Russia, Europe and Australia, we are busy. So, there is no impact on our market.
Mario Muhleder, Managing Director, LISEC Middle East Ltd, FZE Dubai, U.A.E.
Response is good here. We have very selected costumers and our products are very well accepted in the market. Zak Glasstech is a very good platform as more & more people are known to our company. Impact of price fluctuation on Indian market business is definite which is mainly due to currency exchange. We are looking to make our costumers more competitive. We believe that in India, the recognition of glass, as a building material, happened very late. Only after 2000, glass as a construction medium started picking up. As we know, the per capita consumption of glass in India is 1.2 kg. which is very less. It is 15 times lesser of the developed countries. You can imagine the enormous opportunities in the glass industry of India. We are going to launch our 2nd float line with production capacity of 600 Tonnes per day very soon. We are focusing on the process units only for our products.
Saleem Raza, Vice President – Sales Planning & Logistics, Emirates Float Glass LLC, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.
Last year in Zak Glasstech 2010, we launched two new different tempering lines, one of them is the Full Convection FC 500 and the other is Radiant Convection Furnace which is called RC 200. This model carries three major things i.e. affordable quality, spotless tempering and reliability. These are the three major issues. Homes, offices or hotels, wherever we live, we need day light. It means more windows and more glass. If reflective glass is there, energy saving is certain. The same thing applies to automobiles. Sunshine is endless resource. In India, revolution is coming. Energy efficiency is the main key. The other field is the solar, where glaston is working hard. Indian glass market is more than suitable to us because India is the only active glass market but Indian market is most difficult for foreign companies. Glasston has its plants in Europe, China, US and Brazil. So, we can give different types of machinery and different levels of price. We have a vast range of machines for edging, beveling, tempering, laminating and bending. We also provide consumable like diamond tools, we have sales and service organizations in India. We also organize Glass Processing Days (GPD) in Finland, China and India. We are not only making money but also committed to give feedback to the industry and the society. We are committed to share the latest technology and experience with the industry.
Pekka Nieminen, Vice President-Sales & Service, Asia Glaston Management (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., Shanghai, China
This is our first experience in the Indian market. We are the first time participating in this exhibition. We have served 41 countries and have our offices in USA, Netherlands and Austria. Glass & Glazing Technologies are the distributors of our products in Indian Subcontinent. Our products are of the best quality and are certified by TUV Rheinland, the highest testing agency in the world. We have found a very good market here and people are very excited. They are looking at the capabilities and qualities of our products. We have found a very good market here. We have taken the decision of supplying the concept of technology in India. We have a very positive experience about our product in Indian market. For further development, the other Chairman would come and maintain the position.
Adrian Ray, Director-Americas, PCT Global, Santa Barbara, CA
This is our 8th participation in Zak Glasstech Exhibition since 2004 regularly. For myself, it is 7th time, In these seven years, I have seen how the Indian market developed. We are satisfied with the organizers. I appreciate their job. New machines and technologies are introduced in India. Comparing with other editions of Zak Exhibition, it is quite good. There is a good opportunity to meet some new and old friends in this Exhibition. I think Landglass has very good reputation in Indian glass market. We will offer high quality machines in India market. This year, we launched gas fixed furnace. It is the best choice to give high quality product at very much lower running cost. In my opinion, Chinese companies think that Indian glass market is hard because of people’s purchasing habit. Not all, more and more people focus on quality, technology and services after paid lessons. I believe, Quality product will live a longer life in any market. Competition is very high in India.
Joe, Sales Manager, Land Glass Technology Co. Ltd., China
In the course of this tradeshow, our company has received very affirmative reactions. This is our 3rd participation in the tradeshow. This time, we have accommodated exhibition space as wide as 150 sqm. India has a substantial potential. I hope that next year, we will participate in a wider stand of 200 sqm. Every visitor is ambitious to see our products and designs. To meet such a demand, we are planning to bring in several machinery for the next occasion, such as cutting machines and IGU. Our customers do have the chance of seeing the machinery. They very much appreciate the quality and want to buy the products. We have a very favorable reputation in the market. The Zak organizer acts in a perfectly professional manner from the beginning up to the very end, taking diligent acts in a perfectly professional manner from the beginning up to the very end, taking diligent care of all minute details. They are very fast in solving any problem. China is by far the largest market. Second largest market is India, and is in need of some more time so develop. The third largest market is Brazil. There is an advantage with CMS machinery. It is possible to supply superior quality products at European standards with very favorable prices. Our products range is very wide. We have all types of cutting machines and IGU units. Recently, we have commenced with the manufacture of tempering machines. We have also started with a lamination line project. We have plans to build a large sized factory in Turkey on a land plot of 60000 sq.m. This will be the biggest factory in Europe. We also plan to construct a manufacturing facility in China on a plot of land of approximately 10,000 sq.m. In future, we will have our factories built on 80000 sq.m. In 2012, we may have more than hundred references in India. We are planning to establish a sales office in Mumbai. In brief, the biggest advantage with CMS is that European quality at Asian prices is provided.
Cenk CAM Board of Directors Deputy Chairman, CMS Machinery Co., Inc Istanbul, Turkey
We are supplying cutting tables which are very famous in India. Bottero is one of the largest processing machine manufacturer worldwide. India is an emerging market for us. India and China are the markets where there is the biggest fight for prices. What little bit missing in India, is knowledge about quality and technology. A lot of people ask about price. They never think about quality.
Thomas Gleichmar, Area Manager, Bottero GmbH, Germany
The exhibition is very interesting and we have got a lot of response here. Indian market is very lively. We shall keep on working on the enquiries, generated here. We are very confident of very good future in India. This exhibition is better than the previous from all points of view. A number of processing units and consumption of float is increasing here. India is a booming market.
Luca Carhgnelutti, Area Manager, Kera Glass Engineering s.r.l., Italy
We are the first to introduce the concept of ‘non-stick’, easy-clean glass in India, called ClearShield. This was launched here six months ago and has found many takers in the domestic glass industry. What has made this product an instant hit are its eco-friendly attributes such as reduced carbon emissions, low maintenance costs and the ability to make full use of natural light. No wonder Clear Shield has won numerous global awards. We envisage an expansion of our operations in India as we are looking for channel partners across the country. Being an industry leader, we make concerted efforts to impart all sorts of training and product knowledge to the applicators, architects and specifiers. We are committed to a long lasting presence in India, and the Glass Technology show opened up new opportunities for us.
Ms. Prerana Phadnis, Business Development Consultant, Ritec, India.
The show was pretty good as compared to Glasstech 2010 held in Delhi, in all terms i.e. organization of the show, cleanliness, number of participants and also number of visitors. But, one thing I observed, is that Indian market is very much interested in Low end machines like Chinese or far east products in which you can manufacture your products with lots of limitations and quality, which is not a healthy sign at this stage when other world markets are getting advanced and we are stuck at only one point i.e. money. Our market needs huge amount to awareness to come out of this issue.
Rashid Khan, Country Head, Global Glass Technical Solutions New Delhi, India
This exhibition is definitely a good platform for companies like ours. We are new in the market. We hope, we can make indulgence in the market. We have decided to participate in this exhibition for the second time with a good platform. The response is good. We are much better than the last year. The size of the stall is too big. Last year, it was the beginning when the company was not started. Now, people are much aware of NSD Glass. Some people are surprised how this company could come to this level. Customers are more than satisfied. We are one more alternative to provide services to industry.
Dinesh Tripathi, Managing Director, N S D Glass, Mumbai, India
Zak Glasstech 2011 was a good showcase to reflect the growing glass industry in India. We had a good show and a lot of our regular and potential customers visited and appreciated the exhibition. This show will give a boost to our sales in the near future. Chinese participation and their inroads into Indian glass industry was also quiet notices. The good part was that only the established quality products and machinery manufacturer from China had participated in this exhibition. The togetherness of other Exhibitions (Doors and Windows, Aluminium and Glass) provided a complete solution to the needs of construction industry. The impact of European slowdown and crisis was clearly visible by their absence to a large extent. The exhibition will benefit both the exhibitors and the visitors. We look forward to a more global participation both by exhibitors and visitors in the next show in New Delhi in 2012.
Sudhir Arora, Managing Director, Techno Trade Links, New Delhi, India
RINOX is delighted with the overwhelming response it has received in this show. We have received more than 300 visitors over the 4 days and majority of them are very serious players in the glass business. A large number of our customers chose to visit us at the show to look at the new range of hardware and railings displayed here. Geographic reach of the visitors literally extended from Kashmir to Kerala and also included several International visitors.
Anand Gupta, Managing Director, Rinox Kaufmann Ltd., New Delhi, India

This edition of ZAK Glasstech, Mumbai, is the most successful event in comparison with the previous five exhibitions. A lot of people from all over India are visiting our booth. HEGLA and BYSTRONIC GLASS combined had another successful ZAK exhibition at New Delhi recently. Although, it was not expected from us to close orders or deal making in the show, both BYSTRONIC
& HEGLA showcased their latest developments and widening range of solutions to glass processors. This edition was an opportunity to meet all the top glass processors in India who have the potential for investment and upgradation in the coming time. The overall organisation and arrangements by ZAK team was indeed exceptional which made both participants as well as Visitors happy. Hope to participate in the next edition as well in Mumbai wherein the close location of aluminium and glass exhibitors will be an added advantage.
